Mark W. Rummel posted this photo on May 23, 2012 in the Facebook Group “You know you are from Sebewaing, MI when …”.  He said “Here’s the “Pride of Michigan” label, also known as “POM” which was produced from about 1964 until the brewery closed, in 1965.

The “new owners” started this, to upgrade the Sebewaing Beer image. They didn’t even want to use the Sebewaing name, saying it’s the Michigan Brewery, in Huron County, MI… Big mistake, and it helped lead to the end…”

Doug Rook I’ve heard many a Sebewaing hater joke about the beer being called pheasant piss. Then someone started the POM label and claim that it comes from, of all places, “urine” county.
