The Sebewaing Brewing Company always did a nice job in wishing there customers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

A holiday ad with other business in the Sebewaing Blade and yearly Christmas cards were ways the brewery passed along their holiday cheer.  Here is a 1948 card openings sent to customers about the time the transition was made from Old Style and Stock Ale to Sebewaing and Sport Beer.  The year before in the late summer of 1947, the bewery became one of the franchises for Brewers’ Best.  Though Brewers’ Best  it did not last long, there was a heavy marketing campaign in 1947.

Christmas of 2015 was unseasonably warm with no snow in lower Michigan.  Here is a photo of the brewery after a heavy snowstorm.  Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  May your family and travels to see each other be safe and joyous.

Brewer’s Best, Remember The Name …

Sebewaing Brewing Company Posted on November 6, 2015 by Scott ThedeNovember 6, 2015

Brewers Best Ad 3Brewers Best Ad 2Brewers Best Ad 1Several vintage ads appear here for Brewers’ Best, a short-lived New York City franchise opportunity, Brewer’s Best Associates, Inc., which was located at 620 Fifth Avenue. The ad for their Pilsner Beer is from 1947. Their slogan was about remembering their name, “The New Big Name in Beer.” Unfortunately, it did not work out as they had hoped.

Brewers Best was brewed at about 25 different small breweries around the US. One of the locations was Sebewaing.  A list of brewers associated were:

Brewers Best Breweries

The headquarters in New York was essentially a sales office. This brand had national distribution through the network of small brewers who brewed the beer under contract.  A full brochure for Brewers’ Best can be seen here.
