Aluminum Replica of the Brewery Pheasant?

Sebewaing Brewing Company Posted on August 17, 2015 by Scott ThedeAugust 17, 2015

Unlabeled PheasantMark W. Rummel posted this photo on August 13, 2015 in the Facebook Group “You know you are from Sebewaing, MI when …”.  He said:

“For sale today on eBay from Sebewaing: here’s a “vintage aluminum pheasant” image of the Sebewaing Brewing Company pheasant. I had never seen this before — does anyone know if several exist, or is this just one?

It’s for sale at $34.95 with about $11 in shipping — so it could be yours for under $50, if you’d like it…”

Here are the comments from the post:

Betty Guenther I have one made of some poured material and I painted and gave it to your dad. I think I picked it back up at his sale?

Mark W Rummel I believe you, Sis. Actually, this aluminum version might just be a pheasant on a board and might not be related to the brewery. It may have been made by a person who likes pheasants.  There are no markings that say anything about Sebewaing. Just so people know, in case they’d like to buy it.

William Harder Its not from the brewery people are trying to past them off this the third one that’s been on there

Bob Fournier Looks like a new product

Thank you to Mark W. Rummel for this post and all of those who took the time to comment in Facebook.

Check Written by Otto H. Thede for the Sebewaing Brewing Company

Sebewaing Brewing Company Posted on August 17, 2015 by Scott ThedeSeptember 2, 2015

Cancelled CheckMark W. Rummel posted this photo on August 11, 2015 in the Facebook Group “You know you are from Sebewaing, MI when …”.  He said:

“For sale today on eBay: Here’s a cancelled check from the Sebewaing Brewing Company in 1953, signed by Treasurer Otto Thede. Since the only financial company in town was Farmers & Merchants State Bank, it’s drawn on them.

You could own this memory of Sebewaing, if you place the winning bid.”

Here are the comments from the post:

Brian K. Schwartz Who’s it made out to?

Judy Terrill Looks like Sebewaing Laboratories Inc

Chuck Sterling Schwang, Schwarz?

Brian K. Schwartz Looks like Schwang.

Jo Ann Parsell Looks like Schwarz Lab. Maybe they were purchasing brewing yeast from them.

Betty Guenther I think Seb hist society has some

Thank you to Mark W. Rummel for this post and all of those who took the time to comment in Facebook.
