Finished First Leg of Research
One of my goals in researching the brewery was to go through all of the archive film of the Sebewaing Blade from 1933-1966. I am happy to say that after a recent visit of many to the Sebewaing Library, I have completed this goal. As in my past visits, I located additional materials that will be posted on the timeline and in the source page within the next week.
My quest for photos is still a high priority. I have been asking people for piictures of anything related to the brewery and there have been some responses. However, at this time, I do not have enough photos of the inside and outside to do a project that I thought would be a wonderful addition to the history of the brewery. The project is a virtual walk through of the different areas in and around the brewery buildings with actual room dimensions and elevations. The age of digital cameras and camcorders would have made this an easy task 35-40 years ago. I have to believe that someone had the foresight to take photos and perhaps even some film and these treasures could be out there somewhere waiting to be discovered or dusted off and brought back to life.
My next step is to request the help of the the Huron Daily Tribune to see if they would be willing to run a story of this website and help spread the word for materials related to the brewery. Perhaps this effort will help communicate this request more widespread and to those people that are not as comfortable using the Internet.
Until then, thank you everyone for your help and visiting the site!
