This site is dedicated to Otto H. Thede of Sebewaing, MI (March 7, 1907 – October 1, 1983). He dedicated 35 years of his life to the brewery and was the last man to see to it through to the end. The loss of the brewery was hard for him and a sad thing to discuss until he passed away in 1983. He always took care of things and he took great care of me. He saw me off to college in August 1983 with a hot plate, dishes, and many other supporting items a college student could use.
On Friday, September 30, 1983, we both spent time at the “Fishhouse”. This was late in the afternoon and he passed away later that evening. I will never forget that afternoon, the many day trips to the cabin in Curran, mowing the lawns together at the “Fish House” the Pension Fund Co Lodge, and his home on East Main Street, a block away from the brewery. He was a great man and the best grandfather anyone could hope to have.
