A Sebewaing Brewing Quarter Barrel

“For sale today from our hometown – a 7.75-gal aluminum (or steel?) beer keg for Sebewaing Beer. It’s on eBay and appears to be from 1949, according to the date stamp. The seller lives in Unionville.

I’ve never seen one of these for sale before… you can buy it.”

I remember seeing several of these in the Keg and Rack Room along with the metal foil and blue plastic capBlue Keg Caps.  The blue plastic caps were in the large boxes by the hundreds.  The foil caps were in smaller boxes and though I don’t quite remember, theFoil for Kegy might have been stored like paper cups in a stacked configuration (one inside the other, maybe a dozen per stack or something like that.

Art Mast Family Photo

“Art Mast was a very interesting guy, and a very important part of Sebewaing’s history. He owned the town’s photography studio, so he took thousands of family photos, wedding pictures, graduation shots, etc., over the decades. Plus, he was President of the Sebewaing Brewing Company for many years, as well as a father, church and town leader.

Here’s his family’s photo from “Sebewaing 150.” He also snapped hundreds of local photos which he made into postcards, which help tell our town’s past story in special ways. It seems to me he published postcards as an amateur from about 1910 through the 1960s. I remember him quite well and want to say “thank you” from today’s historians for all he did back then.”
